The well-crafted and finely detailed kitchen fittings produced by global leader BLANCO have become a constant staple here on D'Scoop. It's no surprise, of course, considering the full spectrum of well-designed, luxury faucets, sinks, and basins made part of their extensive catalog as well as their constant desire to meet the changing needs of their clientele. That being said, the expansion of their DIAMOND Series of sinks came at the request of specifiers and fabricators, both looking for a true undermount sink integrating the simple installation and great look of BLANCO's popular series. Featuring their patented SILGRANIT II material and available in 8 striking colors, the DIAMOND Super Single TRUE Undermount sink brings an added element of functionality to the collection.
Opera & Carousel Light Fixtures by Michael Graves for ILEX
Though the design community lost architect and advocate Michael Graves earlier this year, the whimsey and charm of his unique aesthetic continue to live on through the collections of manufacturers worldwide. His last designs for architectural lighting company ILEX, the floral inspired Carousel flush mount fixture and fluid Opera sconce, join the ILEX Portfolio Series alongside four other designs previously created by Graves. With its clear glass diffuser over inner white glass, the Carousel fixture, available with both incandescent and LED light sources, embodies Grave's love of whimsy, taking cues from stylized floral patterns and merry-go-rounds. The Opera sconce, an elegant glass shade balanced on a brushed or polished nickel base, is more classic, reminiscent of Graves' architectural works. both are available immediately, through the trade.
HUSK by Marc Thorpe Design for Moroso
It was a field of corn punctuating the Northern Italian landscape that inspired American architect and designer Marc Thorpe in the development of his seating collection for Italian design house Moroso. An opportunity to translate the natural architecture present in a single ear of corn, the high yet loosely woven skewed backs of HUSK embodies at once elements of fragility and presence while also commenting on the ideas of public and private space. Manufactured in Dakar, Senegal, the HUSK collection is available with both high and low backs, as well as for outdoor use under the Moroso M'Afrique label.
European Cottage & Villa Couture Collections from Stanley Furniture
Since 1924, upscale furniture manufacturer Stanley Furniture Company has produced furniture collections that embody an iconic blend of heritage, traditional sensibility, and modern function, resulting in truly timeless design with a strong following. For the 2015 High Point Spring Market, Stanley Furniture Company's spirit continues with the introduction of the 66-piece Villa Couture Collection and the expansion of the already popular European Cottage Collection. With a relaxed, vintage aesthetic, the European Cottage collection sees the addition of 12 new pieces including a dining table, chairs, and buffet as well as a media console, desk, and series of occasional tables. More geometric in style, the Villa Couture collection takes stylistic cues from Italian designs while displaying a more layered appearance, the collection's American walnut veneers, oxidized metal hardware, and lush upholstery bringing a fashion forward sensibility to today's casual environments. Available through select showrooms.
