For 66 years, the quiet seaside town of Carmel and her sister city to the northeast, Monterey, roll out the red carpet and become the the most gracious of hosts, welcoming automotive enthusiasts and professionals from around the world to what is easily the world's premier showcase of automotive design and technological prowess.
It goes without saying that the events of Monterey Auto Week offer visitors endless opportunities to view - not to mention smell, hear, and possibly even touch - the very best that the motoring world has to offer. What began as a beach side exhibit of just 30 vehicles, an adjunct to the Pebble Beach Road Race, is now one of the most important weeks in the automotive calendar.
While multiple concours events, rallyes, races, auctions, and sales continue to occupy the week at large, Monterey Auto Week is also the location of multiple club evenings, national and international automotive debuts, and a series of private soirees. The festivities of 2016 also include the celebration of BMW's centennial.
